How Does It Actually Work? From my observations, I found out that the DTT2500 is separated into 2 units. The first unit is the Dolby Digital decoding unit. It accepts its input through the Dolby Digital S/PDIF In and passes it to the Zoran deocoder. Normal stereo PCM signals can also be input to this unit through the Dolby Digital S/PDIF In and it will perform its DAC duties. The second unit is what I call the analog unit. It accepts input from the analog Line In and Rear In connectors. Alternatively, it can also accept these channels through the Mini DIN when a SBLive! is connected. Sound from these 2 units are mixed together and output to the speakers. I believe the main motivation for this was the fact that Creative originally predicted DVD games to go big, with support for Dolby Digital cutscenes. Therefore the original Desktop Theater 5.1 and subsequently the DTT2500 was designed with 2 separate sound units to mix the Dolby Digital sound from the cutscenes with the sound from the sound card.
